What Our Customers Say

  • Bestbuy ★★★★★ in the last week
I had a wonderful experience at Classic Pianos Portland yesterday when purchasing my Yamaha CVP905. Fred was incredibly welcoming and gave us a tour of both the instruments in his office and the pianos displayed in the showroom. He was … More knowledgeable and made the entire process enjoyable with smooth communication. I’m now eagerly looking forward to my Yamaha arriving at home!

I visited Classic Pianos Portland to find a piano for my new music studio. While I knew I needed something more substantial than my Roland Juno DS, I was initially concerned about the costs involved in making such a significant purchase. … More With so many pianos to choose from, I was very fortunate to be assisted by Fred Riley, who approached my budget concerns with empathy and sensitivity. It was clear that he genuinely cared about helping me find the best piano for my needs.
Even though Fred was in the middle of handling the sale of a high-end Bösendorfer concert grand, he took the time to help me with my rental without making me feel like an inconvenience. He worked out a fair and reasonable proposal, and I ended up with exactly what I needed for my studio. The 2022 Yamaha piano is scheduled for delivery early next week, and Fred made sure to accommodate the delivery to fit my schedule.
Additionally, Fred went above and beyond by expertly tuning my friend’s 150-year-old piano. Given the age and delicate nature of the instrument, his attention to detail and precision were all the more impressive. He handled the piano with exceptional care, ensuring every note was finely tuned while respecting the instrument’s history and condition. Despite the challenges posed by the piano’s age, Fred worked diligently to restore its sound, and the improvement was remarkable. I recommend asking for Fred to help you if you ever need to make a future piano purchase or if your piano needs tuning.
All in all, Classic Pianos not only delivers on superior quality pianos but also superior quality customer service. Fred was knowledgeable, warm and patient, giving me the time and space to make the right decision for my situation. His kindness, professionalism and ability to make every customer feel seen and heard—even when busy—left a lasting impression. Thanks to this experience, Classic Pianos Portland will always stand out fondly in my memories.

While in town for an appraiser conference, I stopped in to this lovely piano dealership and Fred Riley gave me an amazing tour of all this old world shop is doing. The time they spend reconditioning their pianos and preparing them for sale … More is truly impressive! I met Brian, the owner, as well and heard the history of this family run business. They even offer accommodations to folk coming from out of town to select a piano. Buying a piano is not a matter to rush or take lightly. This is a dealership one can trust.

My son’s piano teacher said to only buy from Classic Pianos! I had an amazing experience with them! Taylor was super helpful and made the buying process stress free. I love that I got a bench with the piano and a gift! Also the option to … More trade in once we’re ready for a nicer piano!
The piano is perfect condition and was very easy to setup.

First time buying a piano, the process was much simpler and stress free than we had anticipated thanks to the great service we received. We received the piano incredibly soon after purchasing it, and have no complaints about the delivery. … More Although we were initially worried about it, due to moving the piano up a large flight of stairs, the guys who delivered it were very careful and hard working, and got it done super efficiently.
The staff here is very friendly, especially Fred Riley, who helped us through the purchase and delivery of the piano. He’s a very kind and funny guy who is very knowledgeable about pianos and clearly cares a lot about his clients. When we called for a tuning, he came by and got the job done on the same day!!! I would definitely recommend Classic Pianos. 🙂👍🎹♥️

Went to Classic Pianos on the recommendation of my piano teacher to purchase my first piano. Fred Riley was incredibly helpful in finding a piano that met my needs, budget, etc. As a first time buyer, his vast knowledge helped me understand … More the differences between various styles and brands. His passion for pianos and music is authentic. I’ve been very happy with my purchase, and after Fred’s recent tuning, the piano sounds even better. Thank you Fred and Classic Pianos!

We purchased a piano from Fred a year ago, and we couldn't be happier with both the instrument and the exceptional service we received. Fred was incredibly knowledgeable and helped us find the perfect piano that suited our needs and … More budget. The quality of the piano has exceeded our expectations, and it’s been a joy to play every day.
Fred’s customer service stands out as well. Even a year later, he continues to check in to ensure we’re satisfied and offers tips on maintenance. If you’re in the market for a piano, I highly recommend working with Fred. His expertise and commitment to his customers are truly top-notch!

Fred Riley is an amazing piano tuner that had one of the best customer service and was very friendly. My mom is a piano teacher and constantly raves about his enthusiasm for pianos and how much passion he has for tuning them. Fred is also … More very efficient at what he does. He tuned my mom’s grand piano in like 30 minutes which is very impressive and mostly importantly it sounded amazing. Props to him! Fred is the guy!!

We had a great experience with Fred. Our son’s piano instructor recommended Fred and Classic Piano. We found a U3 Yamaha that had the perfect key weight and musical tone that our son wanted. Fred then showed us the magical piano and coordinating … More screen. My husband played his Taylor guitar, we feel like we made a friend. I highly recommend asking to see the magical piano when you shop at classic pianos.
